[24th September 2015: Memory: Past Catch in Japan]

There has been some changes to me and my family from last year to this year, some exciting, some difficulties, in order to settle and stabilize those cases and issues, there may be idling required, I will be back whenever I can re-start fishing and currently post some random articles time to time.
I started fishing during my 2ndary school (junior high school) period following to my father, that was exciting and memorable occasion, provided me this life long hobby. Naturally I adopted this hobby and starting to walk alone with own selected gears. While I was in Japan, most memorable catch is flounder catch at Awaji Island Ohishi district, I had caught over 30 cm flounder there eventually since I had targeted this size over years. The moment of catch itself was not exciting as I had overlooked the response from the fish, when I just wanted to check bait condition and pull the rod, I knew there was something at the end of line.
I just had reeled back such heavy objects that was my first experience, I even did not understand the meaning of movement through line.
I had surprised and starting really felt happy when I had seen big white square object, that was when I was 17 year old, long time ago.

[11th October 2015: Memory: Past Catch in Japan]

There was one of my favorite spots during my childhood, named Shioya Beach at where big rocks were scattered on the seabed under the strong current. One day I had local surf fishing competition there organized by local surf fishing team I belonged. After a long weekend day fishing, my catch were one flounder and one greenling, these only two but both sizes were bigger than those by any other participants, I had supposed to be a champion, but Lady Luck had not smile to me, because the competition had targeted not size but number of catches. Happy was my club senior's article later day in the local fishing magazine column, where he introduced the competition scenery  and catch report including my two big catches.

[15th November 2015: Memory: Where I have started fishing]
I did not know the motivation my father had at that time but out of blue he invited me for fishing, as a boy with a lot of curious, I had no objection and followed my father wherever he went. We went to near-by tackle shop first of all for preparation of basic gear, that is just line, sinker, hooks and bait, that's all. Yes, my first experience is hand-line fishing. Rig was very simple, tight sinker and hook to the line, hook bait, swing line then thrown into the sea.
Tighen line, hold line on the index finger then wait signal from fish. Fish bite could be felt directly to your finger tip even just a small signal and easy to catch the timing of fish hook. I managed to catch few small rock trouts at that time and this was one of my most impressive fishing experience in my life.

[6th December 2015: Memory: Flounder Best Spot]
This is my best hot spot during my school days. The spot was introduced by my classmate kaki, followed him to the location that was my 1st year in the secondary school, copied him what he did and learned how to fish flounder. My lazy fishing style works and fished flounder constantly, as just shot sinker over the sea for about 70m, tighten line and wait, you overlooked signal from fish, never mind, just reel in after for a while, then you might see flounder at the end of line for quite sure. Most of fish sizes were between 20 to 25 cm but I could bring back about 10 flounders every time. As a junior high school boy, this catch was fantastic and exciting, became my most favorite spot after that and visited here regularly. However, it was sad that  the commercial trawlers had started to appear at some distance away from tip of the jetty 2 years later and my catch dropped to nearly zero at every trip, I had been disappointed and stop to visit this jetty.

[31st December 2015 ]
I and my family had many changes this year, prevent me for fishing in order to catch up with those changes, that is important to carry on our family life than catching fish, resulting no local catch report this year, apology. I am expecting to become busier next year and less opportunity for fishing as well.
I will try to update any interesting fishing topics next year with some catch report if possible.
I hope all kakis enjoy fishing life this year and will continue angling next year with enthusiastic.
Happy Holiday!!
